We are thrilled to introduce BriLynn McNeal, the inspirational woman behind Painted Dreams by BAM.

What is your brand?

Painted Dreams by BAM. Paintings and prints.

Define your brand in three words.

Familiar, Connectedness, Vivid.

What about building your brand gives you energy?

I love being able to connect to my audience, it keeps me going. I also love having a story to tell, that is something deeply focused on with the new body of work I am creating.

Why did you start your brand?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve made art. Being an artist was always my goal, knowing I had a gift, I wanted to share it somehow, some way. I started taking it more seriously once I began completing portrait and mural commissions. I told myself, “Yes you have a gift, but how do you want people to connect to you?” Easy— be yourself, share who you are, your interests and what inspires you to create. I was inspired by being a black girl/woman, our HAIR, fashion, and beauty and that lit the fire. The subject of African American hair is what I wanted to dig deeper into; the history of it, present-day styles, and the nostalgic part of it that reverts back to childhood.

Where do you see your brand in 5 years?

I really want to hone in on my target audience and grow. Hair is the main focus in my art, and I really want to see my work in Black-owned hair salons or on beauty product packaging.
